The Family Farm on Avent Ferry: Pumpkin Patch

Since becoming a new Dad earlier this year, I've found myself embracing the seasons a bit more.  I get more excited about the way things change because everything is a new experience for my daughter.  Its easy to get jaded with the consumerism and take the seasons for granted.  Enjoy the change in the air and accept the fact that it is awesome.

In comes The Family Farm on Avent Ferry!  This place is incredible and  has wonderful owners.  From the moment you get there you feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle, and are visiting family.  The entire place is seeped southern charm.  Everything is decorated for the season you are in.  Mums, gourds, pumpkins and corn cover the property.

What's even more awesome is how affordable the experience was.  I feel like pumpkin patches have a serious up charge these days.  Don't get me wrong I know its more about an experience....but does it need to break the bank?  A fun day out with your family shouldn't mean you need to eat ramen for a week.  At the Family Farm this is a non-issue.  They have a wide range of prices and even have small pumpkins and gourds for the kids for 2 for $1.  It simply cannot be beat.  I know it seems I am swooning them on their value but it's well deserved.  Not having the stress of price on the brain. you can allow yourself to be present in the experience.

So,  as much as I was excited about the fall, guess what?  Christmas is just around the corner!  It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.  As I am checking out at the Family Farm (3 pumpkins for $12), the owners tell me they will bringing in Christmas trees and wreaths soon.  I can't think of a better place to start your family traditions or restart them, than the Family Farm on Avent Ferry.  Enjoy the moments and embrace the change.
